Many things enter my head when I think about the effects of me giving my car to charity. That is not only due to the good way in which the Washington branches of Goodwill Industries have handled vehicle donation, but they have also embraced the education part of the equation, as well. The folks in charge at Goodwill have done their very best to make sure that people like me not only hear about opportunities to donate my car to charity, but also the many reasons why this is a solid idea.

Let's face it ' these are difficult economic times. You'd have to be hiding under a rock or an abandoned car not to see and recognize this. What the people at Goodwill Industries have done is to face the challenges head on instead of running from them.

Now, they tell me that I should donate my car to charity not only because of how it can help them, but also how it can help me. When I donate my car to charity, I come away with some serious tax benefits, most of which will help me save big time when April 15th rolls around in 2010. Benevolent, charitable giving is a worthy cause, and this is especially true when some of the benefits can be passed on to the giver, as well.

When the economy starts heading in this direction, Goodwill Industries has to step up their activity. They have more people to help and they have a community in even more need. This means that they have to convince people like me to donate my car to charity even more than they normally would. Right now, they are doing a good job of making sure that everyone understands just how important vehicle donation really is. It is paramount to not only their success, but also to my economic viability in the long term.

For me, that's just fine. If I can help someone and get some tax relief in the process, everyone wins.
